Court Denies Dino Melaye Bail, Remains in Police Custody
Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has been denied bail in the case of an alleged conspiracy and aiding of jailbreak.
The senator was on Thursday brought before a Lokoja Chief Magistrates’ Court after he was taken there early on Thursday.
The lawmaker was brought to court in a police ambulance at about 9:17.
Before his arrival, heavily armed policemen were seen positioned within and outside the court premises.
Also, newsmen and others that had seated in court for hours were all asked to go out for security checks.
At the end, only few were allowed inside.
The senator had, before being brought to court, first been taken to the SARS headquarters near the NTA office in Lokoja.
