The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. A.B. Mahmoud (SAN), has flaunted the picture of his daughter‘s, Zubaida Mahmoud call to the New York bar earlier this year, emphasizing the ongoing controversy when a Muslim lady who wore a hijab to her call in Nigeria wasn’t called eventually called to the Nigerian bar.

You will recall early this week when there was this ongoing trend, where a University of Ilorin, female law student, Amasa Firdaus wouldn’t be called to bar after she refused to pull off her hijab on the request of the body of benchers, before entering the International Conference Centre.
The incidence which happened on December 12, 2017 has since then arose mixed feelings amongst online users, where some were in support of the Firdaus’s action and some others against it.
Amasa Firdaus had insisted on wearing her wig on top of her Hijab as she was already dressed in her new gown.
