The wife of a lecturer in Zamfara State, Malama Naja’atu Abubakar has been found in her matrimonial home after she has been declared missing for four days.

The husband of the woman, Mallam Yakubu Maradun who is a lecturer at the College of Education, Maru, Zamfara State has been searching for his 25-year-old wife with family and friends since she went missing on the 14th of July 2017.

According to Nigerian Tribune, it was revealed by a source that she went with the permission of her husband to the bank to get her Biometric Verification Number (BVN) but did not return that day.

Her decomposed body was discovered four days later in her matrimonial home by a close relative who noticed a foul odour when she visited to sympathize with the husband.  The man claimed the odour could be coming out of a broken toilet; the visitor, however, opened the door of the room where the odor was emanating from.

The source said:  “It was shocking that inside the room, the decomposing body of Naja’atu was found on the bare floor covered with rags, while flies were hovering all over her, just as the husband became dumbfounded.”

DSP Shehu Muhammad, spokesperson of the Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the incidence but mentioned that investigation was still going on to know the cause of the death.
