Dangote sells Noodles firm to Indomie

Dangote flour mills as sold its asset on noodles to Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie noodles.

The Dangote Flour Mills, group Managing Director Thabo Mabo made this known on Tuesday.

He said the “the divestment was part of strategies of focusing on core areas of flour and pasta production, where the company has substantial market share.”

He said Dangote Flour would now focus more on its area of strength which is flour and pasta and improve more on areas of quality, distribution, and marketing.

Thabo said, in other to make the transition easy; Dufil has been offered some of their facilities on a temporary basis. He added that with Dufil Prima food taking possession and starting production is one of the perfect divestment.

He said Dufil Prima Foods, will continue production and sales of noodles under the brand name, ‘Dangote Noodles’ for two years before changing the name, according to the terms of the agreement signed.

Deepak Singhal, the chief executive director of Dufil Food Limited confirms the deal, he said “acquiring Dangote Noodles would help Dufil deepen and sustain its market share, and be at advantage over other Noodles.

He said “to ensure a seamless transition and immediate commencement of production, most of the former staff of Dangote Noodles would be employed by our company. Affected workers were paid off immediately and to enable the retained staff to start a fresh contract with the new owners.
