Ethiopian Airlines celebrates first international flight operated by all female crew

Ethiopian Airlines on Saturday has made record and celebrated a major feat, as it transported its passengers from Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa to Murtala Mohammed international Airport in Lagos on a Boeing B777-300 ER plane operatd by an all female crew.

The crew is made up of flight commander, Captain Amsale Gualu, first officer (Co-pilot) Tigist Kibret, and 11 cabin crew members.

The amazing thing about this flight was that, it was the first international flight to be operated by an all female crew to Nigeria.

While the plane touched down in Lagos, the flight was welcomed with water cannons after which there was a historic welcome ceremony for all crew members.

The Chairman, House Committee on Aviation, Mrs. Nkiru Onyejeocha, lauded the Captain and the rest of the crew, she further added that the fact that the women flew the plane from Addis Ababa to Lagos is a proof that when women are given the opportunity to perform, so much can be achieved.
