Gas Cylinder Explodes, Injures 24 People
Twenty-four persons were reported by the Police to have been injured in a gas cylinder explosion that occurred in a crowded colony at Punjab, Northern India.

The Police official who spoke about the explosion said: “The explosion took place when some labourers were cooking in one of the makeshift houses in New Smart Colony in the Giaspura area of Ludhiana city.”
The official added: “The gas cylinder had first caught fire and exploded when the labourers tried to put it out using water.”
According to reports, onlookers at the house where the incident occurred were seriously injured and about five persons are in critical conditions.
The official mentioned that a probe into the incident had been ordered.
