Three children died in a gas explosion in Sara, Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Police spokesman Abdu Jinjiri, who confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday, said two others were injured in the explosion.

He said: “Last week, there was a fire incident in the house of Alhaji Wada Sara, and the following people – Zainab Wada, Abdul Wada, Aliyu Wada, Fati Wada and Abdulrahman Wada – sustained injuries and were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birninkudu.
“The fire was from a cooking gas cylinder which exploded. Fati (3), Zainab (2) and Abdulrahman (4) later died at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, where they were taken for further treatment.”
