Ghana suffers heavy fall on FIFA ranking

Ghana suffered a heavy fall, dropping four places in the latest Fifa rankings released for the month of June 2017.
The Black Stars are now ranked the 49th best national team in the world.
Ghana, however, maintained their 9th position in the placements for Africa.
The fall could be attributed to the national team’s inactivity over the last two months, especially during the international break.
The Black Stars will be hoping for an improvement in their rankings should they record good results this month in which they have three big games – a competitive clash with Ethiopia in the 2019 Nations Cup qualifiers and two international friendly matches with Mexico and the USA.
Meanwhile, Africa’s best ranked nation, Egypt also slipped one place to 20th position. They lead the continent with Senegal (27), Cameroon (32), Nigeria (38), Democratic Republic of the Congo (39). Tunisia (41), Burkina Faso (41), Ivory Coast (47), Ghana (49) and Algeria (53) filling the top ten bracket.
