There was confusion on Sunday evening at Ogba Zoo and Natural park in Benin as unknown gunmen killed three policemen attached to the Zoo and abducted the head of the zoo, Dr Andy Ehanire, who is a brother of the Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire.
The three policemen were reportedly killed at about 6pm and disarmed by the attackers
The attack has caused panic at the zoo as fun lovers, who had come to enjoy their Sunday evening, scampered for safety.
Confirming the attacked and Abduction, the Edo State police public Relations officer, DSP Moses Nkombe, who said the situation has been brought under control.
DSP Nkombe said the attackers will soon be brought to book as security has been beefed up in the area.
He assured members of the public that the zoo is safe for fun lovers.
