The state Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen gave this order after he paid an unscheduled visit to the road which has collapsed due to the pressures of a heavy gully erosion by the Obot Street intersection.
Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen who conveyed the concern of the state Governor, Governor Udom Emmanuel to the residents of Abak, in general, expressed his worry that, the extent of damage is a great threat to the inhabitants of the area and their property inclusive.
He blamed the collapse on the poor drainage system, adding that, it is the reason Governor Udom Emmanuel directed that no road constructed under his watch will be done without requisite drainage channel to receive water and the proper channelling to an outfall which will pose no danger to the community or damage to the road.  Heavy Rainfall Destroys major road in Akwa Ibom
