The celebration of Christmas means different thing to different people and with a lot of indigenous and foreign cultures that have come to embrace the celebration, some few elements seem dominant in the celebration everywhere.

Christmas celebration worldwide comes with all manner of creative innovations ranging from the clever use of scrap pieces of equipment, a combination of red accessories and the fixing of all manner of lights, which is often done to lighten the celebration in all respect, on a giant Christmas tree or building.

In some part of the world, the thought has been made up that the red colour attachment to the celebration of Christ nativity is as a result of his red blood which was shed to atone for the sins of mankind. In other culture, the red colour also relates to the fact that bishop robes often comes more in red.

But then, be that as it may, it has become a culture for Christians globally to always celebrate Christmas in all or one of the following ways.

In all Christian denomination, a good Christmas celebration is much more synonymous with the organizing of Christmas carol. Christmas carol often involves a service of songs themed after Christ nativity. In some denomination like the Pentecostals, Methodist and especially Catholic, carols are held in high esteem with an array of people beautifully adorned in attires which really tells that it is the season of Christ’s birth.

Christmas dinner with friends and family
In some foreign culture, people often get unsolicited dinner invites from one family to the other during this celebration of Christ nativity. The period has been seen as the time to reflect on Christ love and in the show of this, family mealtime is shared with other people through an invite sent to them. Here in Nigeria, the celebration is more of a massive communal cooking. After the meal is ready for consumption, some portions are served to neighbours and families around who will also be glad to participate in the yuletide’s delicious delicacies.

Home/ Office decoration
Like it has been previously noted above, Christmas celebration doesn’t just involve singing Christmas songs and doing the usual Christmas rituals alone. It also involves homes decoration with massive Xmas tree. It often involves the beautification of offices and some public centres. Some homes and offices who really wants to be exceptional about this, even go as far as contracting interior and exterior designers to do the needful for them.

A Christmas is never complete when gifts are still lying idle without someone possessing it. Like it was previously stated, gift boxes, hamper baskets, wrapped Xmas cards explains to people what Christ love is all about.
