Igbonla Kidnap: Parents of victims share testimonies of Joy

Parents of Igbonla kidnapped 6 pupils share testimonies of Joy in Thanksgiving Service

Parents of the 6 kidnapped students of the Igbonla Model College in Epe who were recently freed by their captors have held a 2-hours Thanksgiving service at Dolphin Senior Secondary School in Sura area of Lagos State. where they also shared testimonies.

The pupils who were given a warm welcome by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode rejoiced at the sight of their parents once more.

The pupils: Isiaq Rahmon, Peter Jonah, Adebayo George, Judah Agbausi, Farouq Yusuf and Pelumi Philips were dropped in a creek in Ondo State last Friday after the kidnappers collected another ransom in the sum of N5m; and were also reunited with their parents after they were taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, for medical tests.

According to our Reports, the pupils were in captivity for a total of 64 days.

Out of the sheer joy of seeing their children back again, parents could not hold back again, but to share their testimonies.

Morufu Ramon, a parent to one of the pupils said, “My son said there was a time he called me with the mobile phone of one of the kidnappers, who forgot his phone and went somewhere. He wanted to ask me if they should escape, but I missed his call. I would have advised them to escape. “He said there was also a time the kidnappers went out for four days and left one person behind to look after them. He said the man slept off and they thought of escaping with his gun.”

Another parent, Beatrice Peter narrated her ordeal with the kidnappers when she went to pay part of the ransom. She said was slapped by one of the kidnappers in one of the occasions.
