For more knowledge on what your children have learned in Agricultural Science and Animal Husbandry, you have to take them to University of Ibadan Zoological Garden to see the wild animals.
The University of Ibadan Zoological Garden, which was established in 1948 as a menagerie to support teaching and research in the Department of Zoology, later it became full-fledged Zoo in 1974. Its collection of various wild animals became a major point of attraction for visitors to the university.
There are different species of animals found in the zoo, ranging from monkeys with several species, very popular among the monkeys is Anubis (Olive) baboon.
The most beautiful scene of nature in the zoo is that of the birds’ colony. Birds of different species, ranging from the parrots, the Indian peafowl, monitor Bullard, the long legged black crowned crane, the African purple swan, the big white stork to eagles, are there.
Ajoke, a friendly giraffe is one of the wonderful creatures found in the zoo. It is always seen playing with the zoo keepers.
Horses are also present at the zoo. The most popular is the female called Mary. She does pose for photographs with interested tourists.
Other animals in the zoo include gorillas, camels, Warthog, foxes, lions and a wide range of reptiles.
