Israel Adesanya bags $500,000 pay following recent victory over Marvin Vettori
The Nigerian-born New Zealand MMA fighter, Israel Adesanya emerged as a top earner following his recent victory against Italy’s Marvin Vettori.
The salaries of UFC 263 fighters were made public and it shows that the middleweight champion pocketed $500,000 for his unanimous decision win over Marvin Vettori, as revealed to MMAJunkie.
He, who was the main attraction in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Vettori himself earned $350,000 for partaking in the bout.
Nate Diaz, who recently made his comeback to the octagon, earned $250,000 in his defeat to Leon Edwards.
The British fighter earned $220,000, which includes a $110,000 win bonus, for his unanimous decision victory.
In a strange twist, former UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will actually make more in a base salary than current title holder Zhang Weili as they prepare to meet in the co-main event.
Jedrzejczyk will earn $106,000 to show with another $106,000 paid out if she’s victorious. Zhang is set to take home $100,000 to show with an additional $100,000 paid to her if she wins.
Out of all the base salaries at UFC 248, those are the only four fighters earning six figures before ever setting foot inside the Octagon. Here are the full salaries for UFC 248 — and as always a reminder that these numbers do not reflect any undisclosed bonuses or pay-per-view profits potentially paid to certain athletes.
