Lennox Lewis, former world heavyweight champion claims Anthony Joshua does not want to fight either Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury for now and is happiest being protected in England, Punch reports.
Both Wilder and Fury were mentioned to be the potential opponents of the UK born Nigerian heavyweight champion for his next fight earlier this month.
Joshua, the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion will fight again at Wembley Stadium, London on April 13, and has repeatedly said a heavyweight unification fight with WBC champion Wilder is his preferred bout.
“I think they should have a rematch. Anthony Joshua can wait,” Lewis told CompuBox TV.
“He doesn’t want any of those guys. When he’s seen that fight he was like ‘wow, these guys can box’. He’s at a place in his career in boxing – obviously he can make the decisions.
“His decision is not to fight any of them at this moment.”
Wilder maintained his unbeaten record but was given a stern test by Fury in what proved to be a classic contest which ended in a controversial split draw.
Fury having knocked down twice but showed incredible bravery making the match ended in a draw. Although, wilder has claimed the result was not in his favour.
Though the unbeaten duo, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder have been billed to fight in April, but the boxing legend Lennox Lewis has claims that Joshua is not willing to fight the American champion
