Juvenile delinquency is an act perpetrated by youngsters which often results into an act of violence and becomes hard to curb for parents or guardian of such child. Juvenile delinquency can also be referred to as that behaviour on the part of children which often subject those children to a juvenile court or most times a correctional center where children victim learn to live right.
Juvenile delinquency has become a recurrent act amongst young teenagers most of who are students still in secondary schools.
Juvenile delinquency is often a great pain for parents as it gives them sleepless night and often will push them to the wall. But here are measures you can undertake to curb or totally get rid of juvenile Delinquency amongst your children.
1. Get involved in your Child’s Activities – Juvenile delinquency has a higher chances of reducing in the life of a child if parents can only give attention to their children daily activities and interest. Teenagers whose parents are not very much involved or interested in their lives are more likely to become bullies, which may ultimately lead to involvement in gangs, violent behavior or other criminal offences.
2. Don’t be a Bully too – Some parents are just bully themselves. You shouldn’t shout or yell at your children at any sight of unpleasant act. There are ways you can go about solving an unpleasant act done by your children. Juvenile delinquency tend to thrive in a situation where bullying and yelling is the order of the day. Youngsters wont like anyone yelling at them, so it is essential you learn how to speak lovingly to your children so as to get the best out of them.
3. Let Your child be a registered member of a Humanitarian course or Society – Being a registered and active member of a humanitarian course or society such as the red cross will keep your child busy and also help your child think well of people, talk well to them and also appreciate good gestures shown to him or her which are often first signals that a child is learning well from what is been practiced.
4. Create time together with your children – Children love affection, love and care. Infact virtually all children will appreciate this more than any other thing you can suggest. When you make your time available to wine and dine with your children and most especially show them love, they are often bound to always want to show it to others as well, likewise you the parent.
5. Good Children starts with good parenting – When you want to get the best from your children, then try and parent well too. Until when you parent well, you can’t get the best from your children. In the face of good parenting, juvenile delinquency can hardly thrive. Giving them the due love at the right time is the best way forward.
But of all forms of ways that might have been listed above, if your children dont know God or read the bible, then they might just be set to walk into the path of suffering from juvenile delinquency. Lead them to Christ, let them know Christ love them and died for their sin. Show them that the bible is the creator’s manual for the a successful living, with this you can be very sure Juvenile delinquency has no place around your home.
