The kidnappers of the mother of Labour Party National Chairman, Dr Mike Omotosho, have reportedly demanded an amount of N100 million for her release.
The mother of the chairman, Elizabeth Omotosho who is 71-year-old was abducted by four gunmen on the evening of Sunday, 5th November, 2017 at her family house at No 23, Lobalade Street, Tanke, IIorin, Kwara state.
The State Police Public Relation Officer, Akayi Okasanmi, said the police and other security agencies were on the trail of the abductors to ensure the victim’s safe release. He also pointed out that he was not aware of the N100 million ransom.
The state Acting Chairman , Alhaj Abdulkareem Onagun, pleaded with the abductors to release Madam Elizabeth.
He said: “we strongly appeal to the abductors to, in the name of Almighty Allah, kindly releas the old woman to join her family. Our national chairman has never been in government. He is somebody who has been assisting individuals and the less privileged. We believe that the Almighty God will shine his eyes on him. We are pleading with the abductors that the woman should be returned safely to her family without any ransom. They should consider Mike’s philanthropic gestures at state and even national levels.”
