LAGOS FIRE SERVICE SAVED OKO BABA RESIDENTS FROM FIRE OUTBREAK

The Lagos State Fire Service has saved occupants of Oko Baba from a fiery blaze that gutted the Oko Baba Sawmill Factory, Thursday, April 1, 2021.

The Acting Controller, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, made this known when briefing journalists about the incident after firefighters prevented the fire from extending to adjoining shanties and residential areas.

Adeseye unveiled that the agency got an alart at around 0239 hours showing that Oko Baba Saw-mill was on fire and move was quickly made with the arrangement of three Fire Motors and team to salvage the situation

She further clarified that on landing in the scene, it was found that the Fire which emitted in the market traversing over hectares of Land was seething and had devoured different hardware utilized for cutting, filling and completing woods and boards, just as stock, for example, wood finish.

The Fire Agency Boss further explained that the cause of d incident is yet unknown as speculations are rife of possible carelessness, while an investigation into the remote cause had begun in earnest.

The Fire which was combatted all through the night was finally put out @ 0758hrs
