Lagos LG elections: Movement to be restricted from 7 am to 3 pm today – LASIEC chairman

The chairman of Lagos state independent electoral commission, (Lasiec) retired Justice Ayodele Phillips has announced on Fridayin Lagos that movement will be restricted against Saturday’s election to ensure all voters properly get accredited and to also ensure a good turn out of voters.

 

In a press briefing held in Lagos on Friday, Phillips also assured that councillorship results will be declared at ward coalition centres while results for the chairmanship will be announced at coalition centers within the local government.

 

 

According to Phillips, the accreditation of voters and voting itself will commence simultaneously at exact 8 am.

 

The chairman also said the only condition that might warrant announcement of result elsewhere, order than the places stated is when it is detected that the place is not safe.

 

Speaking of the plans to conduct a free and fair election in the state, Phillips also assured an equal level playing ground for candidates as they reach for the polls today for the Local government election.

 

She, however, urge Lagosians to go out en masse to elect their Local Government leaders. Phillip appeal to candidates and supporters to conduct themselves peacefully at the polling centres.
