Lagos State celebrates Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week

The Lagos State Government has embarked on the celebration of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week which has started since Monday 20th and will end on the 24th of November 2017.

The Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week will be commemorated at all Primary Health Centres across the state.

Dailyfamily.ng gathered that the program features free antenatal and postnatal clinics with free drugs, free family planning services, free immunization, HIV testing and counselling, birth registration and Vitamin ‘A’ supplementation.

Other features of the health week include distribution of de-worming tablets and malnutrition screening.

Parents who attend the health week with their children under the age of five will receive gift items.
