Lagos Train Accident: Four Coaches Restored back on Track (Videos)

Officials of Nigeria Railway Commission (NRC) have successfully restored Four out of the five fallen train coaches back on track, while the fifth one is being worked on at the time of filling this report.

According to the Director of Operations of the NRC, Niyi Ally, who confirmed that investigation is still ongoing to ascertain the real cause of the incident said the track could have caused the mishap.

He explained that the part of the track is where the road crosses the track, stressing that trucks and trailers are frequently plying the track, which makes the commission to earmark such a point a high-risk point.

Speaking with Dailyfamily, Niyi Ally said the track which is being maintained daily was under close monitoring as at yesterday, but with this incident, the point has been noted as a high-risk point and the frequency of monitoring will be higher.

He also spoke against passengers who hang on the train, claiming NRC has tried its best to discourage such act.

However, Abubakar Musa, a footballer, who also was an eye witness confirmed to Dailyfamily that only a few of the passenger who were trapped sustained injury and that the injuries were minor.
