Lawmaker’s gatemen beheaded, house set on fire by Unknown Gunmen
On Wednesday, 15th of June, 2021, unknown gunmen attacked the home of Ekene Nnodumele, a lawmaker, in Ebenato, Awo Idemili, in Orsu Local Government Area, and beheaded a gateman on duty and set the house on fire.
It was gathered that the attack took place at the lawmaker’s hometown, in the Orsu local government area at about 02:15 am.
The hoodlums not only beheaded the gateman but also burnt hundreds of motorcycles in the process.
Mr A. Nwadikwa, Nnodumele’s aide, later confirmed that the hoodlums fired shots in the area for long hours before, while and after the attack on the house took place.
“There was heavy gunfire there orchestrated by the gunmen last night,” Nwadikwa stated.
Nnodumele, further stated “My house was burnt, motorcycles burnt and my gateman beheaded. For now, I don’t know the extent of the other damages. The details will come later.”
In other developments, the home of Cyprian Akaolisa, the immediate past Attorney General, of Imo state, Cyprian Akaolisa, was reportedly been burnt by the rampaging hoodlums.
It is recalled that intelligence gathered from an officer in the state, states that hoodlums operating as “unknown gunmen ” have relocated to the rural parts of Imo state.
