About Hundreds of the roughly 500 residents in the Grenfell tower block remain unaccounted for at the moment. Some have estimated that the death toll could rise to above 100 as some entire families remain unaccounted for. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said “the truth has got to come out” as he visited those affected by the blaze.
Some Residents of Grenfell have claimed that they raised concerns about the safety of the building, which was recently refurbished, while those who escaped complained that their fire alarms had not been set off by the blaze.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Theresa expresses her condolence to the victims of the attack. Theresa May said on her twitter handle @Theresa_May on Wednesday that, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life at Grenfell Tower. My thoughts are with all those affected and the emergency services.”
Following her condolence message addressed to the victims via her Twitter handle, Theresa has also stated publicly that a full public inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire will be carried out.The fire has left at least 17 people dead, with emergency services expecting the death toll to rise.
After visiting teams at the scene of the blaze in west London, May said the move was needed to ensure “this terrible tragedy is properly investigated”.
May’s announcement came forth amid several calls for corporate manslaughter charges to be brought following the fire disaster.
