A businesswoman Uche Portia has been remanded in prison along with her five-month-old baby, pending the perfection of her bail condition by an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun State.
Portia, 29, was earlier accused of fraudulently collecting N335,000 from the plaintiff, Mrs Oluwaseyi Sijuwade in agreement of supplying her 50 bags of rice which she failed to do.

Portia is facing a charge of fraud and stealing. She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Osanyintuyi had informed the Court that the accused committed the offences on the 16th of July 2017 at Igboye House, Ile-Ife.

The Lawyer of the accused, Mr Ben Adiereje, pleaded with the Court to grant her bail on liberal terms with the assurance that she will not jump bail.
According to NAN, The magistrate, Mrs Dorcas Ajiboye, had granted the accused N200,000 bail, with one surety in like sum.
Ajiboye said the surety must swear to an affidavit of means and must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
In addition, the surety must produce three-year tax clearance and provide two recent passport photographs.
The case has been adjourned until September 1, 2017, for further hearing.
