In response to a divorce petition filed by his wife, Ella, Ndu said:“Before we got married, I and my wife went for an HIV test, my wife tested positive, while I tested negative.
“Because of the love I had for her, I still went ahead to marry her against the advice l got from some of her family member.,”

He said the warnings from people not to marry her due to her attitude and that marrying the woman will lead to regret later did not stop him. He also told the court that he had been taking care of Ella since she was in Secondary school until University level.

Ndu added that: “My wife brings her lovers into our matrimonial home and makes love to them. “My children and my workers confirmed it, that it happens mostly at weekends when I have gone to school.”

He said apart from infidelity other problems he had with his wife includes betrayal and lies. He pointed out that he stumbled on a receipt showing that his wife bought a landed property which he was sure she had no other means of income apart from of his shop.

Ndu said that she had a bad influence on his children so he pleaded with the court for the custody of the children. He said: “since she left the house, my children have been winning awards in the church.’’

The wife, Ella Ndu denied all the allegations and asked the court not to grant her husband custody of the children.

The case was adjourned until July 13, for further hearing by the Judge, Mr. Everyman Elenanya.
