Meet 8-Year-Old Nigerian Female Goalkeeper
This eight-year-old Nigerian girl, Chidubem Arinze, a student of The Riverbank School, Victoria Island, Lagos is an outstanding goalkeeper.

Chidubem Arinze, a female, was the goal-keeper for her team, the Riverbank school, VI, when they played against Redeemers International School, Apapa, at the Redeemers’ Day 2018.
Chidubem as a female goalkeeper played for her school’s male team and was outstanding as she saved penalties and free-kicks that would have been a goal.
Speaking with dailyfamily.ng, Chidubem Arinze said she is a student of Basic four class and a player at Riverbank Football Club. She said she aspires to play football professionally.
Chidubem said her interest in football grew when she “saw how hard people work and put their efforts in it.”
Her coach, Mr. Aderemi Oladimeji, said she had been playing for the school during the last two years and has been exceptional. He said she is not only a goalkeeper but she also plays football and is an athlete also.
When asked if he sees Chidubem playing football professionally, Mr Oladimeji said: “It’s a work in progress, she’s a God-given talent in the school, she plays football and also run for the school, she has been the best.”
Mr Oladimeji said however that the decision for her to play professionally is left to the parents of the child to decide but they are doing their best to identify their talents and nurture them well.
