MEN DISOBEYED THEIR WIVES TO THEIR DEATH

It has been revealed that two of the men who died in the tragedy that happened at a viewing center in Calabar on Thursday night during
the match between Manchester United and Anderlecht in the UEFA Europa league allegedly disobeyed the warning of their wives not to go and watch the match.
Mrs. Elizabeth Alex Samuel, a mother of a year-old child, and wife to one of the victim said if only her husband listened to her, maybe he would still be alive today. The woman who was trying hard not to cry Said after the tragedy, her husband was among those taken to the hospital, but on the next day, the news came that he has died.
Speaking further, Mrs. Samuel said,
“Every day I warned him not to watch football in that viewing center. That night, he went to watch football. The next thing I heard shouting and they said people have died. I was waiting I did not see him. I heard they had rushed him to the hospital. I was crying throughout. It was yesterday (Friday) they came and told me that my husband was dead”.
Another woman, Mary Okon told reporters that her husband, Mr. Emmanuel died in the incident.According to Mary she tried all she could to stop her late husband from going to the viewing center that night because she wanted him to eat and relax, and stay at home but he refused.
“I told him to stay back and eat but he said I should come and meet him when it was ready. When the incident happened I went there to look for him and when I found him he was not moving. There were bodies lying on the floor everywhere. I carried him with the help of his nephew, but he was not responding. His body was cold. With the help of a neighbor who is a taxi man, we carried him to the hospital where we were told he was dead,”
Meanwhile, The Governor of Cross River state, Senator Ben Ayade, has condoled the affected families, He described the incident as one tragedy that is painful.
