Mother of four stabbed to death by husband in Lagos

There was palpable tension in Ikorodu area Of Lagos after a Landlord allegedly stabbed his wife Titilayo Sodipo to death over a disagreement.
The sad incident happened in the Olomu area of the town. The man, Mr. Omolaja Sodipo who is a Landlord in the area was said to have committed the crime in the heat of anger and fled the scene immediately.
Their marriage was said to have been fraught with disagreement and constant conflicts which usually leads to fighting and violence.
Neighbors and some people living in the community were the ones that quickly alerted the police from the Owutu division, who came to remove the woman’s corpse.
The earlier callers to the bungalow were friends and family members of the mother of four, and they saw her lying down with blood all over her body.
Most of her neighbors were not willing to comment on the issue but a source who did not want to be identified said.
“They came into this community some years ago after building their house. The man, who was formerly dealing in telephone accessories, had been jobless for some time. His wife worked with a private school after giving birth to their fourth child two years ago.
“But they were always at loggerheads, which led to the man beating up the wife. The man is short-tempered and it appeared the frustration of his joblessness also got into him. We always heard their voices anytime they were quarreling.
“Last night, we heard them fighting again. In the morning, we discovered that the woman had been stabbed in different parts of her body. She was lying lifeless in a pool of blood.”
Olarinde Famous-Cole, The Lagos state Police PRO said, “We are still searching for the man. The woman’s corpse has been deposited in a morgue for autopsy.”
