A 15-year-old boy was arraigned on Thursday in a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over offence bordering on alleged stealing of a neighbour’s motorcycle valued at N170,000.
The defendant, who resides at No. 20, Folarin St., Surulere Lagos, is facing a count charge of stealing.
Prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osayande told the court that the defendant committed the offence at No. 20, Folarin St., Surulere Lagos, on Sept. 16.
She alleged that the accused stole a motorcycle valued at N170,000, belonging to a neighbour, Jerry Peter.
Osayande said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Standing before Chief Magistrate, Mr Aro Lambo, the defendant denied ever committing the offence.
To this end, Mr Lambo granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 and also requested that he produced two sureties in like sum.
Pending the time when his bail conditions will be met, Lambo ordered the defendant to be remanded at the Abeokuta Correctional Institute for Boys, and then adjourned the case until Oct. 25, for further hearing.
