Mrs Imo Isemin, the wife of the first civilian Governor of Akwa Ibom State, is dead after a brief illness. She died in a private hospital in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital.
She was admitted in the private hospital on Tuesday after she suddenly fell ill and a source in the family confirmed that the first lady died after a brief illness.

Mr. Isemin, her husband left the office of the Governor of Akwa Ibom state due to the military coup that occurred in Nigeria which brought General Sani Abacha into power. He died in year 2009.
Mrs. Isemin till her death was stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom state.
