NFF Football Awards: Moses, Ndidi, and Okpotu slog it out in the Maiden Edition.
As we gear towards the maiden edition of the NFF awards, the Men’s Player Awards will be the most talked about the award for the Night.
The award will see some of the best Nigerian footballers at the moment with the likes of Moses, Ndidi and Okoptu competing fiercely for the covetous price.
Looking at Victor Moses, from an impressive 2017 up-till the moment, we have continuously seen the growth of Victor Moses in the rounder leather game. The first part of 2017 saw the wingman transformed from a winger to a wing-back for Chelsea, and his contribution was vital as Chelsea ended the Premier League campaign as deserving champions.
With a stellar performance for Chelsea, he replicated the same for the Eagles in the run-up to the qualifiers to the world cup, in a form level typical of Moses since the 2013’s Afon triumph of the Super Eagles.
Going forward, he has been a very pivotal member of the Gernot Rohr’s counterattacking team and performed excellently In the first round of the qualifying series where he single-handedly put Nigeria in a comfortable position, position they never vacated till the end of the qualifiers
Another fierce contestant for the big price tonight is Leicester’s Star-Boy, Ndidi Wilfred, a former Genk playmaker. The midfield maestro was employed to fill in the mighty shoes of former N’Golo Kante, with his brilliant performance for the club, Ndidi has clear fully penetrated the heart of Leicester fans with his eminent pun-able surname ‘’NDIDI’’ his name has turned into a household one for the foxes. From timely interceptions to crucial tackles, and the extensive energy he employed in qualifiers, Ndidi is a contestant that Moses will have to beat. With his automatic team shirt for the Eagles all through the qualifiers, where he paired Ogenyi Onazi in the heart of the Eagles’ central defensive midfield role. For a player who only turned 21, that is massively impressive and encouraging.
Lastly but definitely not the least, with exception to tonight’s award, the Lobi hit man who goes by the nickname ‘The Panther’, would go down as the most talked about player in the Nigerian Professional League in 2017. With a tally of 19 league goals, a very close competition towards the record of 23 goals held by Mfon Udoh, former NPL Golden Boot winner. The striker is no doubt a prospect worthy of mention, with his level of achievement and consistency in the local league. The award ceremony will be televised live on national TV and at exactly 7:00Pm Nigerian time.
