Nigeria Moves Up 5 Places in Latest FIFA World Ranking
The Super Eagles have progressed five spots in the latest FIFA World Ranking released today. The three-time African champions climbed into the top 50, with a 47th position.
This is coming after the Gernot Rohr led side secured a 1-0 win in Warsaw against Poland and a 2-0 defeat by Serbia three days later in London.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s World Cup group opponents, Argentina, Croatia and Iceland slipped down the table respectively. Nigerian’s biggest opponent Argentina, dropped one spot to fifth position while the South Americans dropped one spot to fifth.
The table saw the top three unchanged as Germany, Brazil and Belgium main their position respectively.
In Africa, we had the top countries with Nigeria managing a 6th position, while Tunisia topped the chart with Cape Verde islands finishing 10th in the rankings.
