Nigerian Female Lecturer Wins Young Scientist Award

A Nigerian female lecturer at the University of Ibadan, Dr Esther Eyiuche Uchendu, has won the Young Scientist of the Year Award.

Dr Esther Eyiuche Uchendu became the winner of the 2018 Young Scientist of the Year Award which was organized by the Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.

Prof. Idowu Olayinka, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan said the letter received from the SIVB President on the March 2nd, 2018 showed that the award was given for the recognition of the achievements of Dr Esther Eyiuche Uchendu in the In Vitro Sciences.

The Vice-Chancellor said: “As a scientist, her ‘involvement and dedication within the Society has impacted the careers of many students, young scientists and colleagues.”

He added: “We are delighted that Dr Uchendu is on our Faculty. I am sure you will join me in congratulating her while wishing her further successes in her career.”
