Offa Robbery: IGP May Face Jail Term (See Full Details)
In connection to the Offa Robbery that claimed the lives of over 30 persons, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris may be facing jail term soon.
A High Court in Kwara have sent a notice of warning to the IGP after he refused to follow the court’s order to release the Personal Assistant on Political Matters to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Mr Olalekan Alabi.
Mr Olalekan Alabi was arrested by the police in connection to the robbery since May 30th, he was granted a bail of 20 million naira by the court but the police has refused to release him ever since.
In a notice sent to the Inspector General of Police, it was stated that he risks being sent to jail. The notice reads:
“Take notice that unless you obey the directions contained in the order of the High Court of Justice of Kwara State delivered on the 1st of August, 2018, you will be guilty of contempt of court and will be liable to be committed to prison.”
