10 Bible passages that will inspire you to be a better spouse
The Holy Bible is a great instruction manual, it contains stories that teach us to be better, show us the consequences of bad choices, and inspire us to do what is right. This wonderful book is within the reach of all of us, and these teachings are applicable in all situations of our life.
Being a command of God, marriage is a very important step in the lives of all people, and obviously the sacred scriptures bring us many references about marriage that can help us understand how marriage would be in the manner of our Heavenly Father . The first thing to do is to recognize that we must always improve and improve. As it says in 1 Corinthians 11:28, “let man examine himself (…)”, it is necessary to have a constant self-evaluation of the spouses, this will contribute to success in the home.
Let’s look at ten inspiring scriptures:
Mark 10: 6-9
“But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female: therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh; They shall be two, but one flesh: therefore whatsoever God hath joined together, let no man put asunder. ”
In these verses we learn great things. In marriage there must be no individuality, husband and wife must be united, they must always come to a consensus, making decisions that will please both. And there is a great promise: “What God has joined together let not man put asunder.”
“A virtuous woman, who can find her? Her value far exceeds that of rubies.”
Ruby is a very valuable gemstone because of its rarity. God compares the value of a virtuous woman as surplus to that of this stone. Husbands, value your wife and give her the due value she deserves. Wives, do not forget how important you are.
1 Peter 4: 8
“But above all, be zealous for one another, for love will cover the multitude of sins.”
Love has the power to erase bad memories, erase past mistakes. It was out of love for us that Christ sacrificed himself and enabled us to forgive our sins. Love is of immense significance.
“And thus patiently waiting, he obtained the promise.”
This scripture is a beautiful motivation for us to persevere that we will achieve our goals as a family.
1 Corinthians 13: 1
“Though I speak the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, it would be as the sounding metal or as the tinkling bell.”
It’s no use having a beautiful and spacious house, the car of the year, to publish beautiful photos on social networks in expensive restaurants, if there is no true love between the couple. This is the feeling that keeps the couple together in health, disease, wealth and poverty.
“But be merciful to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Forgiveness is essential in marriage. Our spouse will sometimes do things that will not please us, we need to make the decision to resolve all conflicts and open our hearts to forgiveness. That does us good.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
Love is not jealous, love does not treat lightly, it is not puffed up, it does not behave with indecency, it does not seek its own interests, it does not get angry, it does not suspect evil, it does not Injustice, but rejoices with the truth: all things suffer, believe all things, hope all things, endure all things. ”
Hmmm! Yes that is real love
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for her.”
Throughout his life here on earth, Christ sacrificed himself and showed such great love for the gospel that the love that the husband should have for his wife is compared to the love of Christ for the Church.
1 Corinthians 13:13
“Now, there remain faith, hope and love, these three, but the greatest of these is love.”
Always the love! And along with faith and hope, he becomes stronger and stronger.
Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10
“It is better to be two than one, because they have a better reward for their labor: for if one fall, the other lift up his fellow: but woe unto him that is alone: ??for there shall be none that shall lift him up.”
Marriage becomes a fortress when the two walk together and work together for the happiness of the home. If one falls, the other will be there to help him get up and move on.
Well, a marriage can only strive when you God id in the center. Try this out today and then make sure you apply this scriptures. You will be assured of a blissful marriage no matter the age you and your partner are today.
