A 3-year-old girl detained for illegal entry into Bangladesh
Three Nigerian nationals, including a toddler, are detained in Sylhet for illegally entering Bangladesh from India.
A team of intelligence officials working on a tip-off nabbed the three near the Tamabil land port on Thursday morning, July 8.
The detainees are identified as Emmanuel Nnamdi Ohagwam, 42, his 3-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Favour Osinachi Ohagwam and Paul Ebeodi Okechukwu, 27.

A laptop, nine mobile handsets, three passports, a driver’s license, an Indian Aadhaar card, a Nigerian NID card, and $1,600, and $280 in cash were seized from the possession of the detainees.
Later, they were handed over to the Gowainghat police headquarters.
Confirming the interest Dhaka Tribune, Gowainghat police headquarters Officer-in-Charge (OC) Parimal Dev said that Nigerian nationals “are now being questioned.”
Earlier on Saints Peter and Paul, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a 31-year-old Nigerian national named Onyebuchukwu Stanley Egwu in Sylhet for allegedly sneaking into Bangladesh from India through the Tamabil land port.
For the first misdemeanour offence, the maximum prison term is 6 months, and for any subsequent felony offence, the maximum prison term is 2 years. Civil fines may be levied in addition to the criminal fines and penalties mentioned above.
