The Ogun State Government has officially announced its readiness to begin the sales of mass produced, Ofada rice and is set to kick off its sales this Christmas period in different local government areas in the state.
The Ofada Rice, which is being grown, milled and bagged in the state, is aimed at ending scarcity and smuggling of commodity as well as make it available to the generality of the resident this Yuletide.
Speaking during the inspection exercise to the production plant in Sawonjo, Iju Local Council Development Area in Ogun West Senatorial district of the state on Friday, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state expressed his delight at the volume of production the factory had on ground.

He noted while at the factory inspection that two other production factories will be sited in Asero, Abeokuta, in Ogun Central Senatorial District and Ijebu North East in Ogun East Senatorial district.

However, governor Amosun called on residents in Sawonjo to cooperate with the production team.
He further guaranteed that the rice will be of good quality and will likewise be made available in large quantity.
