The estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Wuraola is now free to re-marry as elders of her family has returned the bride the Ooni paid over her back to him.
The Elders of the family of the ex-queen visited the Ooni from Benin City and persuaded to take the bride price back as a sign to put an end to the relationship that was between the both of them.
BossNewspapers, a source from Benin reported that the Ooni was a bit reluctant to collect the returned bride price but he was persuaded to do so by the elders.

He was quoted to have said: “She’s free now, she’s free…,”
The marriage was hereby dissolved by the elders amicably which later brought a lot of relief for both families.
A Yoruba source claim that though the bride price is just a token returning it back to the husband is a sign that the marriage is over.
A Yoruba source claimed: “When a bride price is returned, the man no longer have ties or right over the woman in question, and they can only see themselves afterwards as friends if they so desire.”
