“Pay our late son’s 8-Months salary”- Family of late football star write Ajimobi

The family of the late defender of Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC, of Ibadan, Izu Joseph, has written a letter to the governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi to pay the 8-month salary and 21 match bonuses owed the deceased.

  

It could be recalled that Izu, an indigene of Rivers State, was shot dead in Bayelsa by Joint Task Force Operative in River state when he was on holiday.

The copy of the letter was made available to newsmen on Monday morning.

Your Excellency,
APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE GOVERNMENT

My name is Reuben Izu Jnr., I am from Okarki community of Ahoada west LGA in Rivers state, I represent the family of IZU REUBEN MARTIN .
We write to appeal to your Excellency for financial assistance to enable his family (wife and daughter) find there fit out of the hard conditions the death of there father IZU JOSEPH the Nigerian footballer who was murdered by men of the Nigerian army in Okarki town in ahoada west. Your Excellency sir his daughter who is a minor age 9yrs old is already having setback in her education and her mother relocating to the village to try to make a living.
We are appealing to your Excellency to help us within your abiliy to enable us train his daughter and pursue justice for our son who was until his death an indigene of Rivers state playing with shooting stars FC of Ibadan(3sc) who are still owing him eight (8 months salary and twenty-one (21) match bonuses.
Your kind support towards our family will be greatly appreciated as we look forward to a favorable response.
Thanking you in anticipation for your support as we know that your good works in the state have affected the lives of many oyo state indigenes and Nigerians at large. You are God sent and may the Almighty God continue to guide you through out your tenure as Governor of Oyo state.
