A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engineer Abiola Olaniyan has called on President Mohammadu Buhari to monitor the way the state governors are spending the allocations disbursed to them for settlement of workers salaries and payment of pensioners entitlements to enable cater for the welfare of their families.
Engineer Olaniyan alleged that many of the governors were diverting the funds for projects in which they have personal interests as against the general interest of the hungry masses.
He advised Governor Isiak Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state to reorder his priority as some of his decisions could be described as putting the cart before the horse
,”The dualization of the road which the Oyo State Government is currently doing is good but it is not the immediate need of the masses. As an Engineer, I can authoritatively say that it is not with good intentions.
Olaniyan said this in Ibadan while speaking with newsmen in the state capital.
The PDP chieftain noted that the states’ infrastructure were in a state of decay adding that the dualization of roads should have been done at a later time.
“Without prejudice to His Excellency, the welfare of the masses should have been given attention.Our educational system is weak.The workers are being owed at this austere period of recession.
The former Senatorial aspirant under Accord Party said that there is need to form a formidable opposition party in Oyo State, adding that “the present government in Oyo state is neglecting the welfare of workers unlike when Senator Ladoja was in the saddle”
“It was to the credit of Senator Ladoja and other chieftains of former Accord and PDP to resolve their old conflict and restore the old glory of PDP and become one to remove this administration that thrives on deceit and propaganda. Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s government is making lives difficult for the masses. Olaniyan alleged.
He said that if fielded as the Oyo Central Senatorial candidate for PDP in 2019 and won to the National Assembly, he would do all he could to resume lobby for constitutional amendment that could pave way for the creation of Ibadan state which, he believed was overdue.
