Peace at Last as North Korea Settle with South Korea
It was an ecstatic atmosphere as North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in met at the heavily fortified demilitarized zone between the countries on Friday, pledging to pursue peace after decades of conflict.

This visit is unprecedented as Kim becomes the first North Korean leader since the 1950-53 Korean War to come into South Korea. The age-long hostilities between the two countries were laid to rest yesterday as the two leaders were pictured shaking hands with smiles in the truce village of Panmunjom.
Pictures of Moon and Kim joking walking together depicts an opposite of what transpired between the two countries last year, remember how North Korea tested its nuclear missiles, the largest nuclear test ever recorded, this led to international sanctions, and fears of resumed hostilities between both countries.
The dramatic meeting comes just weeks before Kim ’s meeting with the U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss denuclearizing the Korean peninsula.

“We are at a starting line today, where a new history of peace, prosperity and inter-Korean relations is being written,” Kim said before the two Korean leaders and top aides began talks.
The two leaders discussed denuclearization and permanent peace on the Korean peninsula during their morning session, and are expected to sign a joint declaration after they reconvene Friday afternoon, a South Korean official told reporters.
