Police arrests man for kidnapping 2 children in Ogun

A 28-year-old man identified as Abiodun Joseph has been arrested by The Ogun State Police Command for allegedly kidnapping a 12-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy.

The suspect allegedly abducted the girl, Tobiloba Aleshiloye and the boy, Yussuf Kudus on the 15th September 2017.

He was said to have taken the children to an unknown location and demanded a ransom of N150, 000 per child from their parents.

Joseph is a resident of Cananland, Sango Ota, in the Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun state.

Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said detectives have been on trail of the kidnapper since the parents of the abducted children reported the case to the police at the Agbara division.

He revealed that the hideout of the suspected kidnapper was located in a hotel at Ojo area in Ibadan through “Technical investigation” that was conducted.

He confirmed that the suspect and the victims were rescued and arrested unhurt.

Oyeyemi said: “The two children have been reunited with their parents.”

Ahmed Iliyasu, the state Commissioner of Police, has given an order that the case should be transferred immediately to the Anti-kidnapping/Cultism unit of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The Commissioner appealed to members of the public to be conscious of the security of their children so they won’t fall victim of kidnappers.
