Polytechnic Ibadan, dismissed two staff and expelled 32 students

The Polytechnic Ibadan has dismissed two of its staff from service while 32 students were also expelled from the Institution.

The registrar of the school, Hezekiel Fehintola, disclosed this on Thursday in a statement that the staff were dismissed after being found guilty of gross misconduct by various committees set up to investigate their level of culpability in the offence levied against them.

Fehintola further explained that the school action was in line with the terms and condition of service set by the Polytechnic management.

Fehintola also said that the expelled students were found guilty of examination malpractices during the first-semester examination in the school.

He said the students were found culpable after appearing before a disciplinary committee of the school.

Mr Fehintola, urged the staff of the institution to be committed to their work and warned that the school would not condone any act of indiscipline from the staff and students.

“We also appeal to parents and guardians to continue to cooperate with the management of the institution by playing appropriate roles in the development of their children so that they can imbibe the spirit of hard work, industry, and uprightness,” the statement stated.
