According to Daily Trust, an eye witness said: “the bodies of the okada rider and the pregnant woman were left unattended to for a while until a passerby who recognised the pregnant lady stopped to recover both bodies before taking them to the hospital and morgue respectively.”
Reports have it that the plate number of the bus that crushed the deceased was left at the scene of the accident and this is being used by security operatives to trace the bus driver.
ASP Nkiruka Nwode, the Police Public Relations Officer, described the incident as unfortunate, she said investigations is ongoing to find out the cause.
ASP Nkiruka Nwode said: “The DPO in charge of the area had written to the Federal Road Safety Corps to find out the owner of the plate number found at the scene of the accident.”
She warned all road users including pedestrians to take caution while using the roads so as to avoid tragedies. ASP Nkiruka Nwode commiserated with the family of the deceased.
