One of Nigeria’s largest and most efficient television station, Television Continental, has reportedly sacked no fewer than 145 of its staff.According to the available report, the staff, from across the country, were sacked on Friday morning.

The report said they were invited to the head office of the station in Lagos on Friday, and told of the new development.

According to the CEO of the station, Andrew Hanlon the mass retrenchment of workers became unavoidable as the station is currently having some major challenge with its finance. The Chief Executive Officer of the station made it known that TVC Nigeria is not making enough money to cater for the needs of its sister station, TVC Africa.

This might not be unconnected with the unavailability of TVC Africa Online for a while now
Meanwhile, the management of the station was reported to have fully prepared for any eventuality that might arise from their action by providing maximum security at its premises.

TVC is well known for its general news, politics, business and current affairs programs.

However, no word has been heard from any representative of the sacked workers
