The Tanker with registration no. UDD 275 XA broke down on the road which falls at the border between Lagos and Ogun State and it has not been removed ever since.
The residents of the area have been calling on relevant authorities as efforts to remove the tanker which belongs to Pondolivia Oil and Gas Ltd had ended in futility.
Motorists of the road have chosen to now make use of a longer alternative route due to the damaged tanker.
One of the residents who identified himself to newsmen as John said: “We called for a meeting of residents and the community development association (CDA) to look for a way to remove the tanker as residents have been forced to look for a longer alternative route to get to their destinations.
“If the road is in good condition, this would not have happened.”
Another resident who is a housewife, Mrs Dolapo Oni confirmed to newsmen that she is moving out of the area, she said: “I do not want to be asleep with my family and an explosion occurs. Our lives are more important than the house.
“I have decided to relocate to a friend’s place in Egbeda in Lagos with my family.”
