1.William Paul Troost-Ekong was (born 1 September 1993) is a professional footballer who plays as a center back for Turkish club Bursaspor. He was Born in the Netherlands, to a Nigerian father, and Dutch mother Eleanore Troost.
2. After playing football at youth level in England for Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, Troost-Ekong began his senior career in the Netherlands with FC Groningen and FC Dordrecht.
3.He represented the Netherlands at under-19 and under-20 youth levels. He only started playing for Nigeria after his international debut for Nigeria on 13 June 2015, playing 90 minutes in an AFCON qualifier against Chad he represents Nigeria at senior national level.
4. He was selected by Nigeria’s under-23 team in their 35-man provisional squad for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. The defender made his international debut for the three times African Champions in 2015 and has not looked back since then, featuring in all the five games as Gernot Rohr’s men secured their sixth appearance in the World Cup in Russia next year after gathering 13 points from five encounters.
In May 2018 he was named in Nigeria’s preliminary 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
