Tuesday 19, December recorded a bizarre incident at the Ijegun area of Lagos in a Celestial Church of Christ after the bloated body of two, girls were found in a church well.
The girls identified as Oreoluwa Michael, who was said to be the daughter of the church’s pastor, Michael Adishade and the other girl, Oreoluwa Ileran was said to be a child resident at 37 Opeleye street in the same neighbourhood.
The tension piling up on them led to searching all around and eventually, their bloated bodies were found in the church well.
The bereaved Pastor stated that the children were removed from the well and rushed to nearby Gratitude Hospital, where they were confirmed lifeless.
Pastor Adishade later made a statement at the Isheri Oshun Police Division, from where some policemen were deployed to the scene of the incident.
Expressing her grief, Mrs Ileran said the sight of her child and friend’s corpse is the most dreadful thing she has ever seen in the whole of her life.
Speaking about the incident, the distressed mother said:
“When I noticed that my baby was nowhere around the apartment at about 5p.m., I went to look for her. “While the search was on, I decided to get water to wash my face as I was already exhausted.
“To my greatest shock, I noticed something was afloat. On closer observation, I discovered they were human beings. I rushed out to alert people, who came to bring out the lifeless bodies.
“But some people suggested we should rush them to the hospital, that they could have fainted. When we got there, my worst fear was confirmed.”

Meanwhile in a different reaction, some residents in the area said the well was closed but there is a possible case of murder in the toddlers death. They said they might have been murdered and thrown in the well.
One of the residents said: “Why should the well be closed if indeed the children fell in. It should have remained opened. We suspect foul play, but we leave that to the Police to ascertain.”
