Some students of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State on Wednesday 3rd June 2020 took to the streets to protest incessant rape cases across Nigeria.
The peaceful protest of ‘SAY NO TO RAPE’ was organised by the Student Union under the leadership of comrade Soneye Abdulazeez Las.
The students also used the opportunity to visit the palace of the Awujale of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona Ogbagba II. Where they made their campaign for justice for Uwa and Baraka who were recently raped and murdered by their attackers known.
They later visited The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Ijebu-Ode.

The deputy clerk of the house of senate comrade Oluwaferanmi Majekodunmi gave the briefing of protest as he wrote on the school students platform on Facebook.
“Today, we matched out for a peaceful protest of ‘say no to rape’ at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. We are on a mission in telling the society to curb rape in our environment.
As we were going, we branched at the palace of the Awujale of Ijebu land where we poured out our agitations and justice for Uwa and Baraka. May their souls rest in peace.
We left there because our mission is to make sure we get to the NTA Ijebu-Ode.
As we were going, we met a wonderful woman, she is a lecturer of Mass Communication at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye. She stopped us and told us she is in with us and promised us that our peaceful protest would be on the front page of the magazine. She exchanged contacts with us. She snapped with us all and told us never to relent. She gave us some money for refreshments.
From there we started our peaceful journey to Igbeba. On our way, we met Sm old women who told us to please interpret our protest in their local Yoruba dialects in which we did and they prayed for us all that we should cont.”
