Xerona and her fiancé, Derin Philips, were joined according to Efik tradition surrounded by their families and loved ones.
Politicians and Dignitaries from across the country including the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, were in attendance at the ceremony.

Xerona, the beautiful bride shared photos from the ceremony in her Instagram post, she also wrote this:
“Last Saturday, I married my best friend surrounded by our family and friends according to the beautiful and very colorful Efik tradition. I’m so thankful for my parents by birth by love and my wonderful aunties who showed up and showed out(!) and incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to pay homage to the three cultures that reared Derin and I. God bless all who traveled from near and far to celebrate with us. May God replenish you and keep you.
